Furniture Restoration

Following a fire, water or smoke loss, the furniture restoration process varies from removing soot and grime from one painting to reupholstering, repairing and refinishing an entire office or home. Depending on the severity of the damage, American Technologies, Inc. and American Restoration will determine the best method to handle the furniture restoration without further damaging the item, and in some cases, we may even enlist the services of specialty restorers to assist with restoring the furniture.

American Technologies, Inc. / American Restoration has a team of professionals prepared to handle a furniture restoration job, whether large or small, thoroughly from start to finish and return each piece to their pre-loss condition or even like new.

Repairing

On occasion, a piece of furniture may be broken or damaged enough that a portion of it needs to be replaced. We are able to have tops and legs rebuilt and sides or drawers replaced without affecting the overall integrity of the piece.

Reupholstering

We offer a variety of reupholstery services, including the cleaning of cloth and leather furniture and the recovering of furniture. Upholstered cloth items, such as sofas, chairs, cushions, and drapery, are vacuumed and dry- or wet-cleaned depending on the fabric. Leather and vinyl furniture is cleaned with a mild degreaser and a leather treatment. Every attempt is made to restore the furniture to a pre-loss condition. Depending on the age of the piece, fabric content, and wear, the cleaning may not restore the items to a “new” condition and recovering furniture may be recommended.

Refinishing

Matching a finish requires experience and skill. Items that sustain cracks, scratches and dents will be touched up and covered with care and detail. Our restorers are seasoned refinishing experts who can color match stains and lacquers and apply a variety of finishes ranging from flat and semi-gloss to pigmented lacquer and custom mirrored high gloss finishes.
