Keeping track with POI
To better serve your needs, we use Pack-Out Inventory (POI) to streamline pack-out and pack-in jobs. POI is a computer software program designed to assess, inventory and track contents including total loss items and contents packed out for cleaning and storage.
One of the key features of POI is the use of bar codes to inventory and track items. Contents earmarked for pack-out are tagged with a bar code including the insured's name and location. When each item is scanned, the bar code, a brief description and digital photograph are entered into a computer program. Once entered, contents can be easily tracked from the moment they are assessed through pack-out, cleaning, storing and pack-in.
Access to your possessions throughout the entire process is dramatically improved with POI. For example, if you request a specific item in storage, our warehouse personnel can use the POI system to quickly identify the exact location of the item and retrieve it.
Our approach
Our pack-out crews are specially trained to handle your possessions with care. Prior to packing, we take photos of each room to document the items and correct placement to ensure that all contents are returned to their original locations. We use standard packing materials and boxes for safe transportation and storage of contents ranging from small keepsakes to clothing and household goods.
All boxes are inventoried and labeled by room and contents. Once boxed and labeled, the contents are transported to one of our secure warehouses for storage.
Specialty items and services
Contents requiring additional specialty services are clearly identified and tagged separately.
These include:
• Electronic equipment such as televisions, computers and home entertainment systems requiring corrosion removal.
• Documents such as books, business papers, photographs and special keepsakes requiring special treatments such as freeze-drying.
• Art including paintings, sculptures and statues.
• Clothing and linens requiring dry-cleaning

Ensuring the safe-keeping of your possessions while in our care is a top priority. We operate storage facilities at each of our 9 offices. In fact, we offer over 300,000 total square feet of storage. Our facilities include secure vaults and large lock-up areas to house boxed items as well as furniture, appliances and electronics. Whether you require a few weeks or several years of storage, we are ready to meet your needs and time frame.
