Company History

The American Technologies, Inc./American Restoration story is a classic tale of vision, persistence and hard work. 

After a 15-year stint in the insurance restoration industry, Gary Moore decided to follow his passion and start his own environmental remediation company.  With a business plan in hand, Gary approached the banking industry to secure a loan to fund his new venture.  Instead of walking away with a small business loan, Gary was advised to come back when he had an established business.  Undeterred, Gary took out an equity line of credit on his home, and in 1989, American Technologies, Inc. was born.  The company consisted of a three-person staff housed in a small store-front office and warehouse in Orange, CA. 

Thanks to his technical expertise, marketing acumen and commitment to customer relations, Gary’s reputation quickly grew and so did the company.  In 1992, Gary expanded his Southern California presence by opening facilities in Chatsworth and San Diego. 

In 1994, Gary increased the company services to include 24-hour emergency response and restoration work.  He moved the headquarters office to a 28,000 square-foot facility in Anaheim, CA to house a small fleet of vans and trucks along with his growing staff.

Gary continued to open new facilities in the late 1990s and early 2000s to expand the company presence in Northern California as well as Arizona and Nevada. 

Today, American Technologies, Inc./American Restoration is recognized as a leader in disaster recovery in the Western U.S. offering environmental remediation, restoration and reconstruction services.  In June 2007, the company was spotlighted by Inc. Magazine as one of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in America.  In October 2007, Engineering News Records included American Technologies, Inc./American Restoration in its Top 600 Specialty Contractors list, ranking the company 248 for asbestos abatement services.    

With a staff numbering over 600, American Technologies, Inc./American Restoration is currently headquartered in a 50,000 square-foot office and storage space in Orange, CA.  Nine additional facilities are located in:

In addition to Arizona, California and Nevada, the company is registered to provide environmental remediation, restoration and reconstruction services in Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington.
