The owner of an unoccupied Northern California home discovered water intrusion from a kitchen plumbing system failure. Almost all of the wall surfaces in the house were wet. A separate contractor was hired to set up dehumidification units and fans. Shortly thereafter, an Industrial Hygienist performed a survey and determined that mold growth had occurred. The homeowner’s insurance agent contacted American Technologies, Inc. to perform the mold remediation.
Mold-certified crew members and supervisors were dispatched within 24 hours of assignment to the job. Due to the severity of mold growth throughout the house, the majority of the interior walls had to be removed from the floor up 4 feet on the walls. All personnel wore the appropriate protective gear during the remediation: disposable clothing consisting of full-body coveralls, head covers, gloves, and boot covers. They also protected themselves with air purifying respirators and HEPA filtration. All wall cavities were HEPA vacuumed, wire brushed and encapsulated. A biocide was applied to decontaminated surfaces to prevent fungal regrowth.
Strictly adhering to the recommendations and guidelines of the Industrial Hygienist’s report and remediation protocol, American Technologies, Inc. were able to restore the house to habitable conditions in only 4 days.
